Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Legendary HOF netminder Ed Giacomin (inducted 1987) has signed with clear black marker near the heel of his 1973-74 game-used Sher-Wood stick that features the great goalie’s original black tape on the blade and white above the paddle and on the knob. This gamer, with nice puck marks lining it, has “Giacomin 1” stamped below the knob, the date “15 Jan. 1974” is stamped on the edge of the paddle, and remains in good condition despite a crack and wood separation in the heel that would be unnoticeable with the stick displayed.
Truly a fine game-used stick from a HOF goaltender who donned the pads with the New York Rangers from 1965 until 1976, followed by 2-plus seasons with Detroit before calling it quits.
