Dazzling 1997-98 Red Wings Stanley Cup championship ring is a sparkling 14-karat gold and diamond creation that commemorates Detroit’s second straight title. Led by team captain and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Steve Yzerman and guided once again by legendary coach Scotty Bowman, the Red Wings defeated Phoenix, St. Louis and Dallas, all in six-game series, before sweeping Eastern Conference champs Washington in four straight in the final to become the first reigning champion to defend its title since Pittsburgh in 1992. The tableau features 12 diamonds set in the Winged Wheel logo that sits in the middle of a red stone, with a sloping “Stanley Cup Champions” encircling it around the bezel. The surname of longtime Red Wings team physician Dr. John Finley is spelled out across the top of the right shank, which also features a pair of Stanley Cups, the years “97” and “98”, and “Back 2 Back”. The left shank displays the team name, the Wings’ inspirational “Believe” rallying cry, and the NHL crest. Size 9 ring with “14K” stamped on the interior of the band weighs approximately 54 grams. Beautifully preserved with only light surface scratches and tiny nicks to the band from obviously proud wear. This awesome celebration of the Red Wings’ second straight Stanley Cup title in the spring of 1998 comes with Dr. John Finley's signed LOA.
