Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Awesome piece of Calgary Flames history is Lanny McDonald's 1985-86 game-worn captain's jersey from a season that saw the mustachioed one notch 71 points in 80 games played. The jersey displays Lanny's later-to-be-retired #9 on the back and both sleeves and the captain's C on the left breast, all in red and gold double twill, as well as the slightly banged up triple twill flaming C crest on the front. The captain's C is stitched on by hand and the outline of a previously removed C or alternate captain's "A" is evident as Lanny shared the captaincy with Doug Risebrough and Jim Peplinski during that era and the letter was frequently on and off McDonald's jersey. Inside the collar are “Ultrafil” and born-on date "85 07" flag tags, and a red, red, and yellow (with a small asterisk) CCM patch is sewn on the right rear tail. Nice game wear includes plenty of black marks on the front (including the crest) and on both sleeves, along with paint transfer and board burns on the sleeves, numerous small holes and slashes to the sleeves, puckering on the team crest, nameplate, and numbers, and inside pilling. Just a tremendous Flames gamer from the Alberta native and HOFer (inducted in 1992), and comes with Lanny’s signed LOA.
Addendum; Please take note that the jersey is now photo-matched to the two black marks above the team crest on the last photo shown on the listing.
