Reaching an especially impressive milestone that would insure inclusion among the greatest that have played the game, Marcel Dionne scored NHL career goal number 718 on Sunday, February 14, 1988, to take over sole possession of 2nd place on the all-time goals list, surpassing Phil Esposito. Marcel did it at Madison Square Garden with this very puck as he opened the scoring at 2:33 of the 1st period, beating the Islanders' Kelly Hrudey, with the assists going to James Patrick and Walt Poddubny. The InGlasCo Rangers game puck then had a piece of white tape applied with "718" handwritten in ballpoint. The puck shows light game use. Dionne is currently 5th on the all-time goals list. A signed LOA from Marcel Dionne will accompany this history-making goal puck.
The important puck is accompanied by an 11” x 5” x 5 ¼” display case with glass top and wooden base with mirror bottom, with wear to both the glass and base.
