Jose Theodore, the future Hart and Vezina trophy winner, spent the 1996-97 season doing time with both the Montreal and Fredericton Canadiens. This American Hockey League Canadiens jersey is by Bauer, with the company tag in the neck. Added to the tag in black marker is "96-97", while a fly tag indicates size 58G. The Canadiens crest, numbers and "Theodore" are in tackle twill and sewn-on, with an obvious nameplate change. A Chrysler patch appears on the right breast, while "Bauer" and a nice AHL patch are on the tail. Red knit jersey shows light but obvious use. The Canadiens crest has been restitched after being sliced over on the left side. Two small holes in that area were not repaired. Overall, a great minor league jersey of a future NHL star.
