This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Forever to be known as the first woman to ever play in the National Hockey League when she played in pre-season games with the Tampa Bay Lightning in both 1992 and 1993, Manon Rheaume would also suit up for Team Canada during her career, winning a silver medal at the 1998 Olympic Games, the first tournament to feature women's hockey. Offered here, we present this collection of cards from the early-1990s that picture the hockey trailblazer and includes a quartet of signed examples. For the signed cards, hailing from the 1993 Classic Pro Hockey Prospects (1862/6500), 1994 Classic Games (1758/1900) and 1995 Classic Hockey Draft (208/300 & 892/300) sets, all have been signed with either blue or silver marker ink signatures that display without issue and have been hand serial numbered over the front in matching ink. All appearing to display in good to excellent condition, light touch of wear to the corners and edges are the only things worth touching on condition wise, with the corner wear heaviest on the 1995 Classic Hockey Draft card that is serial numbered "892/300". For the rest of the cards, all also early-1990s releases done brands like Classic, Arena Sports, American Sports and Sports Connections, all display her in various uniforms including from her stints in Tampa as well as with Team Canada, Knoxville Cherokees and the Atlanta Knights or in just everyday life. Once again, all the cards, like their signed counterparts remain in excellent condition upon quick inspection with some showing just light corner and edge wear that is worth pointing out for accuracy.
