Drafted 12th overall by the Montreal Canadiens at the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Turner Stevenson would play his first nine (9) professional seasons with the Canadiens before stints in New Jersey and Philadelphia to close out his 644 game National Hockey League career. A Stanley Cup champion with the Devils in 2003, presented here is this signed Canadiens jersey worn by Stevenson during Montreal’s first game of the new millennium on January 2, 2000 against the New York Rangers at the then Molson Centre. Made by Pro Player, both Authentic Collection and size “58”/”Made in Canada” labels are affixed to the inner collar while the Pro Player and NHL shield logos are embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with the famous “CH” logo of Les Canadiens in layered tackle twill with embroidered details, the NHL 2000 patch worn by all teams during the 1999-2000 campaign has been added over the right breast while the distinguished alternate captain’s “A” sits over the left breast. Having had Stevenson’s number “23” sewn to the sleeves and verso in dual layer tackle twill numerals, “Stevenson” is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Showcasing a special team stamp inside the rear hem that includes the date of the games as well as the Canadiens and Rangers logos, the piece displays game wear via a horizontal mark in the “3” on the back, a couple of faint black marks on the right shoulder, black marks and small scuffs on the right sleeve, a solid black mark on the left elbow and light burns, and black marks on the left rear tail. Additionally, Stevenson has signed near the alternate captain’s “A” with a black marker ink signature that displays well despite some lightness from age.
