Beginning his noteworthy career with the Ottawa Senators, Frank Finnigan first played for the Toronto Maple Leaf upon the Sens suspending operations for the 1931–32 NHL season. The Leafs would win the Stanley Cup in 1932, with Finnigan contributing 21 points in 47 games, along with 5 points in 7 playoff games. He would star for Ottawa the following season, and return to the Leafs beginning in 1934-35, staying with the club until 1937. From the personal collection of "The Shawville Express", we offer his 1931-32 Leafs cardigan sweater. Gorgeous with period styling, the heavy off-white wool sports blue accents, with a label from Warren Knitting Company in Toronto (approx size 32-34). Featuring a stunning Leafs felt crest to the left breast with "Toronto Maple Leafs" appliqued, all of the original buttons are intact, with the sweater in literally perfect condition, with just a bit of discolouration near the left cuff, and no damage or obtrusive marks/wear. Not just one of the best antique cardigan sweaters we have ever offered, this paramount specimen worn during the fabled 1932 Stanley Cup championship season is one of the greatest Leafs items handled in our 30 years. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
