Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2023

Able to be pull from packs during his second season of patrolling the blueline of the Boston Bruins, Bobby Orr would win his first of eight straight James Norris Trophy’s as the NHL’s top defenceman in 1967-68 with this card of the young phenom found at #92 in the Topps hockey release’s checklist that same year. Sporting a classic pose on a background of pink and yellow that make the image pop, collectors are sure to have their interest piqued by the fact that PSA has deemed this copy of Bobby’s sophomore cardboard worthy of the high-grade mark of NM 7. Slightly off-center, most notably bottom-to-top, bright colours, smooth edges and a clean surface are what puts this Orr near the head of the pack while the corners don’t leave much to be desired either, remaining good and sharp while showing just light touches of wear evenly to all four. Housed comfortably in a PSA holder that shows only a small number of light scratches and scuffs over both sides, this desirable offering awaits its place in your collection.
