Recognized as one of the greatest defencemen of the modern era, Nicklas Lidstrom represented only the Detroit Red Wings throughout his NHL career, and earned numerous accolades, including seven James Norris Trophies and four Stanley Cup Championships. Hailing from the mid-1990s, is this stick used by Lidstrom while patrolling Detroit’s blueline. A Sher-Wood PMP 7030 model with “Lidstrom 5” stamped over the shaft, the Swedish defenceman’s original tape job of white over the handle/knob and black over the blade is still present. Showing a stamp reading “24 Detroit” on the backside of the lower shaft, the stick shows light-to-moderate game-use via marks throughout the shaft, lower shaft and blade. A crack is in the middle of the topside of the lower shaft that extends down into the heel/blade on the forehand side and tears are seen to the tape on the bottom of the blade. Additionally, Lidstrom has signed the stick on the lower shaft with a blue ink signature that displays well despite some fading from age.
