Experiencing great success during the 1950s and 1960s with a total of 10 Stanley Cup’s won, the Montreal Canadiens picked up where they left off with the introduced of the 1970s. Offered here is a pair of programs from the Canadiens Cup winning games against the Chicago Black Hawks in 1971 and 1973. Both measuring roughly 8 ½” x 11” and hailing from contests at the “Madhouse on Madison”, the front covers show imagery of either Lord Stanley’s mug or Black Hawks defenceman, Bill White along with the original purchase price of $1.00. Starting with the 1971 program that remains complete, the inner scorecard has been neatly scored with the decree “Montreal wins Stanley Cup!!” penned above along with the date, May 18th, 1971 and the “Game 7” designation. The program shows light surface wear and minor toning to the inside pages with light edge and corner wear and a crease to the front covers also seen. The spine shows light wear with rust free staples. The 1973 program, once again remaining complete with an unscored scorecard, has the lineup pages become unaffixed from the rest of the booklet. The program shows similar wear to it’s 1971 counterpart with heavier surface wear seen along with small tears to the lower spine and front cover with the staples showing light rusting.
