One of the top scorers with Moscow Dynamo during the 1980s, Anatoli Semenov would register 303 points in 374 games. Semenov would also represent his home nation on numerous occasions, helping the Soviet Union to gold at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers 120th overall in 1989, we offer this jersey worn by the Russian during his rookie season of 1990-91. Originally part of the Michael Wexler collection that was purchased from the team archives in 1997, the CCM made offering has the CCM logo and NHL shield embroidered into the rear hem while a Maska label with a handwritten “54” size designation in blue pen is affixed to the inner collar. Decorated over the front with the Oilers familiar team crest in layered tackle twill, Semenov’s number “19” is sewn to each sleeve and reverse in tri-layer tackle twill with “Semenov” spelt out in single layer blue twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Exhibiting good game-use, numerous stick marks are found over the sleeves, front and reverse of the jersey with numerous team repairs found over the sleeves as well with some that are material backed. Other examples of game-use seen include an unrepaired holes over each sleeve, board burns, loose threads, blue paint transfers, staining and a fight strap on the interior that shows evidence of multiple washings. Additionally, the jersey has been photo-matched to a numeric image showing the black marks and unrepaired holes on the lower left sleeve. The jersey is accompanied by an Oilers LOA and MeiGray COR.
