The talk of the hockey world in the early-1990s and dubbed “The Next One” before he even set foot onto the ice of the National Hockey League, Eric Lindros, the 1st overall draft pick in 1991, suited up at 18 years old alongside the best hockey players in Canada at that years Canada Cup, registering 5 points in 8 games played. Offered here from that memorable tournament is this Titan TPM 3020 stick used by the young phenom, who also used Titan ASD sticks in that tournament. With “E. Lindros” stamped over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white over the blade and red-cloth-over-white on the shaved handle, with the shaved portion showing having been repainted the same black colour as the rest of the stick. Featuring a factory date stamp of “20 Juin 1991” on the backside of the blade stem as well as an additional stamp alongside it reading “0449 1”, the stick shows good game-use through numerous marks/abrasions throughout the shaft, lower shaft and heel with puck marks seen over both sides of the tattered blade tape. Lindros has signed the forehand side of the blade with a black ink signature that displays well and has added an inscription reading “The Strong One, from the “Next One” alongside it in matching black ink that also displays well. Hailing from the collection of Lorne Goldenberg, his signed LOA will accompany the piece.
