Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
One of the greatest catchers to ever play baseball and a key member of the “Big Red Machine” era Cincinnati Reds that won back-to-back World Series Championships in 1975 and 1976, Johnny Bench took his rightful place in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. Pictured here on card #247 in the 1968 Topps set, is a young Bench alongside fellow Reds rookie, Ron Tompkins. Graded by PSA, the card has been given an EX-MT 6 designation. Displaying with strong eye appeal, wear touches to the corners are to note as well as being a bit off centre top-to-bottom. The reverse of the card remains clean and displays near perfect centring as well. Encased in a PSA holder, it sports light scratches over both the front and back.
