Nicknamed the "Whiz Kids" due to their youthful roster, the Philadelphia Phillies were National League pennant winners in 1950. Meeting Joe DiMaggio and the powerful New York Yankees in the Fall Classic, the Phillies fell in four straight games. The clubs would not meet again in the World Series until 2009. This panoramic display of the 1950 Phillies was issued by The Philadelphia Evening Bulletin. At approx 10" x 36", the full team is pictured in full-body poses including HOFers Richie Ashburn and Robin Roberts, with "Whiz Kids of 1950" and "The Fightin' Phillies" above. There are a few fold lines and creases visible as well as toning. Framed to full dimensions of 11" x 37", there is some wear to the frame.
