Up for grabs are these three O-Pee-Chee classic sets from the mid-to-late-1980s loaded with rookie/HOFer/star cards of the era which for the most part are in nice uniform condition throughout.
The 1984-85 set features the rookie cards of #67 Steve Yzerman, #185 Doug Gimour, #259 Chris Chelios and #327 Cam Neely in the EX-MT/NM condition range with #129 Pat LaFontaine falling closer to EX-MT due to slight discolouration on the back. Always popular cards of Wayne Gretzky includes #243 as well as nine (9) leader cards picturing “The Great One” all within the same EX-MT/NM scope. All three checklists remain unmarked with the set a nice consistent high-grade offering with only a few commons showing wear to the corners.
The 1986-87 set includes the rookie cards of HOFer Patrick Roy (off-center) as well as Wendel Clark, both in the vicinity of EX-MT/NM with the Gretzky offerings of card #3, #259 (assist leaders) and #260 (scoring leaders) all in mirroring condition as the rookies. Another consistent high-grade EX-MT/NM set offering, both checklists once again remain unmarked.
The last set to complete the trio, that of O-Pee-Chee’s 1987-88 release, includes rookie cards #42 of Luc Robitaille (60-40 centering) and #123 of Adam Oates, the keys of the 44 such examples included in the checklist, are both found remaining in the condition range of EX-MT/NM with the rest of the set in similar uniform condition. Featuring star cards of #15 Mario Lemieux, #53 Wayne Gretzky and #163 Patrick Roy, all in the same EX-MT/NM condition range, both checklists are once again unmarked with card #1 of Denis Potvin notable due to poor corners.
