His third consecutive season leading the NHL in points with 132, Guy Lafleur's 60 goals in 1977-78 was also tops along with his 21 playoffs points. The Flower would lead the Bleu Blanc Rouge to yet another Stanley Cup championship despite the Bruins bombarding the superstar during the finals at the behest of coach Don Cherry. Originally presented to Lafleur as the NHL's MVP, we have his 1977-78 Hart Memorial Trophy plaque. Shield-shaped with beveled edges, the wooden plaque sports mounted silver hockey sticks along with pucks and an NHL logo, with a miniature of the Hart Trophy centralized and an engraved plate listing the details including "1977-78 Guy Lafleur". Lafleur has also signed the reverse in black marker, with the signature perfect. Exhibiting just light age wear, the plaque will be accompanied by an LOA signed by the Habs all-time leading scorer.
This rich wooden plaque, produced by Boffey more recently at the request of Lafleur, features silvery hockey sticks, a raised image of the Hart Trophy, the NHL shield and an engraved metal plate with details. In near perfect condition, aside for light tarnishing, it originally came from Guy Lafleur's personal collection.
