Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023

Despite a subpar performance on the ice throughout it's existence, the New York Americans proudly sported arguably the most attractive and patriotic uniform ever witnessed in the sport. The Amerks first donned their red, white and blue wools in 1925-26, and concluded their tenure in the NHL with a final season as the Brooklyn Americans, in 1941-42. This rare framed team photo of the 1933-34 Americans was snapped at Bear Mountain Park along the west bank of the Hudson River, and features the full squad in uniform, with a chalet in the background. At 8" x 10" and photographed by LeRoy S Davies, the scenic image includes team leader and future NHL President Red Dutton. Matted and framed to full dimensions of 12" x 15", there are condition issues including a number of large creases and wrinkles, with an area of dirt staining near the top border. This is the only example of this photo that we have ever offered.
