Acquired from the St. Louis Blues for a 3rd round pick on November 10th 1989, Brian Benning would play 48 games in his first season in the sunshine state, registering 23 points and 104 penalty minutes. Offered here, is this jersey worn by Benning during the 1989-90 season. Made by CCM, a Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the inner collar with the CCM logo embroidered into the rear hem. Void of any sizing, the jersey measures out to a size 50. Decorated with a partially embroidered Kings crest over the front, with the white details having yellowed from age, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been accented with Benning’s number “2” in dual layer tackle twill. “Benning” is spelt out in matching letters across the affixed matching nameplate. Of note, the jersey shows evidence of a former nameplate having been applied, with the evidence of such extending out just past the ends of the current one on each side. The interior of the jersey shows a fight strap that has gone through multiple washings, with salting and rusting tarnishing present on the buttons. Exhibiting good game-wear, numerous board burns are seen over each sleeve with unrepaired holes also present on each. Additionally, red paint transfer is seen on the right sleeve while staining is seen throughout the entirety of the jersey.
