Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/13/2022
Classic collectibles and hobby favorites are offered up here, with G and VG examples looking to combine to dominate. The key rookie card of Hall of Famer Ken Dryden (G) exhibits multiple creases, rounded corners and wear/scuffing/fine scratches to the surface. Rookie cards of fellow inductees Guy Lafleur and Marcel Dionne are in slightly better condition with the Lafleur having a crease in the lower left corner area as well as corner wear and fine surface scratches while Dionne's first cardboard appearance has a crease in the lower right corner area and wear to the corners and some fine surface scratches as well. Card 50-Hull, 100-Orr, 114-Clarke, 193-Sittler, 245-Orr and 262-Howe are all in the G to VG scope and having a crease/or creases, wear to the corners and scuffing/fine scratches to their surfaces. Cards 195-Plante, 251-Orr, 261-Hull and 263-Beliveau are in slightly better condition than the previous group but do exhibit corner wear and scuffing/fine scratches to their surfaces. The 1st series checklist #111 is all heavily marked while the 2nd series checklist #264 is unmarked and in the EX to EX-MT vicinity. There are at least 100 cards which have a crease or more with most cards showing wear to the corners and scuffing/fine scratches and/or wear to their surfaces. It should be noted that card 60-Perreault is a Topps card, not an OPC. Not a perfect condition set at all, but it is perfect for someone who simply enjoys browsing through the vintage images that includes some of the greatest names of the game.
