Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/14/2022
The NHL record holder for most hits in a season, Matt Martin was drafted by the New York Islanders in 2008 and has spent the majority of his career thus far on Long Island in two separate stints, with time also spent in Ontario with Toronto from 2016 to 2018. This Leafs’ Hockey Fights Cancer jersey was worn by Martin during the warm-up of the Nov 25, 2017 match vs Washington. An Adidas model with a “58” size swatch affixed to the collar, NHL and Adidas crests grace the front and reverse necklines respectively. Styled with a partially-embroidered Leafs team crest, the purple jersey has “15” sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with the Hockey Fights Cancer crest to the right sleeve. There is also an “I Fight for” crest over the lower front designed to be filled out, with this example blank. Worn for just the warm-up, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. An LOA from the Leafs will accompany.
