Having retired after a single season with Boston in 2014-15, Simon Gagne had previously spent time with Tampa Bay and Los Angeles, along with over a decade in Philadelphia. Presented here is this Philadelphia Flyers alternate captain’s third jersey which was worn by the Quebec native during the 2005-06 season. Made by Reebok, a single size “52” flag tag is affixed to the inner collar while logos patches for Reebok and the NHL are found over the back neckline and rear hem respectively. Featuring the silver accented winged “P” Flyers team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the v-neck sweater has been embellished with tri-colour twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gagne” across the nameplate in matching material. Gagne’s alternate captain’s “A” is also found on the front, sewn on over the left breast. The interior of the jersey shows a MeiGray 2004-05 registry patch numbered “C08220” along with a 2005-06 season tag to its left. According to the company’s population report, the jersey is a “Third Set 1 w/A” specimen. Regarding wear and condition, the jersey exhibits just light game-use with a single mark on the left sleeve and two on the right. The jersey also shows numerous pinholes throughout as it was once stapled into a frame and has adhesive residue on the inside of the hem and cuffs. Additionally, the back number “2” has been signed by Gagne with a silver ink signature that displays without issue. A matching LOA and a Gagne signed 8” x 10” photo will accompany the piece.
