This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/21/2022
Increasing from six to seven teams for the 1925-26 NHL season, with the addition of south-of-the-border clubs the New York Americans and Pittsburgh Pirates along with the dissolution of the Hamilton Tigers, we offer an extremely rare first-season Madison Square Garden program issued for the Feb 6, 1926 match between the Americans and Pirates, won by Pittsburgh 6-1. Featuring Amerks' HOFer Bullet Joe Simpson and Billy Burch on the cover, the hefty volume includes small bios and photos for each Americans player, along with full-page images of the Americans team, Burch and the Prince of Wales Trophy. The original insert listing the date and line-up is also intact, with just light overall wear present including a surface line on the cover, with all pages firmly attached.
