Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022

A tempting example of one of the most coveted hockey rookie cards of all, that of Floral, Saskatchewan native Gordon Howe is offered here and will garner merited interest. Worthy of NM 7 status in the eyes of SGC, this card #66 boasts pleasing colors and near perfect corners and edges. The star right winger's 43 goals, 43 assists and 86 points listed below his famous image produced Howe’s first of four straight NHL scoring titles and another 86 points, including 47 goals, were among Gordie's numbers the same season as his rookie cards were discovered in little Parkhurst “boxes.” Howe was awarded the Hart Trophy for the first of six times for his regular season exploits and the Red Wings' playoff run to the Stanley Cup in the spring of 1952 featured two four-game sweeps, contributing to hockey observers over the years naming Howe and his '51-52 Detroit teammates as one of the most powerful teams of all-time. One of the most powerfully inspiring rookie cards of all-time will fabulously enhance your important vintage card collection. Light scuffs/scratches to the SGC holder are to note.
