Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2022
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/31/2022
A perennial NHL All-Star throughout his HOF career, Frank Mahovlich enjoyed his greatest success while helping to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs to a trio of consecutive Stanley Cup championships during the early-1960s – with this arguably the greatest era in the history of the blue and white. This lot contains a trio of signed Big M items including a framed photo, career stats stick and Leafs jersey. First, the photo is 16” x 20” and depicts Mahovlich in NHL action carrying the puck, with spectators looking on in the background. Double-matted and framed to approx 24” x 29 ½” with name plaque and hologram inserted, the 1958 Calder Memorial winner has added a large and flowing blue sharpie signature that presents beautifully. Next, the vintage-style jersey was produced by CCM, with “XL” sizing and tackle twill crest and numbers, with Mahovlich adding a flawless silver paint pen signature to the reverse “7”. Lastly, the stick is a full-size model in Leafs' colours with “Frank Mahovlich” graphics on one side, and career stat graphics on the other. Mahovlich has placed a flawless blue marker signature across the blade along with his number.
