Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
The oldest goaltender to see action in a Stanley Cup playoff game, Johnny Bower enjoyed an especially long and successful professional career, and was the first netminder to employ the now commonplace poke check. Featuring The China Wall, we offer this lot consisting of two Daniel Parry framed lithographs that have been signed by the fan favourite goaltender. Measuring approx. 9 ¼” x 11 ¼” and 10” x 14”, and framed to full dimensions of 18 ½” x 20 ½” and 18” x 23”, both lithos remain in excellent condition and show the same three in action images of Bower in his Maple Leafs uniform. Both Bower and Parry have signed both pieces, one with matching silver ink signatures and the other with matching black ink autographs with everything displaying well without issues. Housed individually in blue and black coloured framed that both display some dings and wear to the edges and corners, a COA is affixed to the back of the smaller frame. Hailing from the personal collection of Brian Glennie, the piece comes accompanied by a signed Glennie family LOA.
While all of our frames are thoroughly and safely packaged for shipping, due to the size and/or weight, and dependent upon the shipping company, we should mention that damage may occur in transit. Please note that as such, we are not responsible for damage to frames that occur during shipping.
