Serving as the left wing on the "Triple Crown Line" with Marcel Dionne and Dave Taylor, Charlie Simmer made his NHL debut for the Los Angeles Kings in 1977-78, and spent parts of eight seasons in California. Hailing from the late-1970s, we have a Kings jersey worn by Simmer in either the 1978-79 or 1979-80 season. Void of any labeling along the collar, an inverted label with “52” sizing from W. Goodman & Sons sits affixed to the inside hem. Styled with a gorgeous embroidered crown team crest, the purple knit V-neck has been accented with “11” sewn to the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill, with “Simmer” placed directly to the upper reverse in matching material. Simmer would notch 48 points in 37 games in 1978-79 (the beginning of the season was spent in Springfield before joining the Kings in January), followed by 101 points in 64 games in 1979-80. Moderate game-use is exhibited on the vintage garment with a few marks over the front and sleeves, with pilling to the interior – most prominently beneath the intact dual-clasp fight strap.
