Blessed with some of the greatest netminders to ever guard NHL creases, the Montreal Canadiens can include a number of legendary backstops that have all worn the famous CH emblem with pride, including Georges Vezina, Jacques Plante and Ken Dryden. This lot focuses on Habs goaltenders, with a framed goalie glove display signed by three-time consecutive All-Star Gerry McNeil, along with six signed and framed photos (one is a signed newsprint center spread) and a pair of Patrick Roy clocks. First, the McNeil shadow box display includes a vintage circa 1940s/50s glove placed above (a generic model not originally used by McNeil), centered by a Sport magazine on the left and 8” x 10” photo on the right, with a small plaque and a pair of pins inserted beneath. McNeil has signed the photo in blue marker, with full shadow box dimensions of approx 26” x 33”. The framed and signed photos include Roy – small page take from a media guide, with Patrick signing in blue ballpoint, framed to 6 ¼” x 9 ¼”, Sevigny – modern print signed in blue sharpie, framed to 8 ½” x 10 ½”, DeJordy - modern print signed in blue sharpie, matted and framed to 12” x 15”, Worsley - modern print signed in blue ink, double-matted and framed to 14” x 17”, Hodge - modern print signed in blue sharpie, double-matted and framed to 14” x 17”, Myre - a center spread newspaper section signed in blue ink, framed to 15 1/2" x 23". The Roy clocks are both matching-style flat wall-mount examples with celluloid images from the 1990s, with one made by Starline (15 ½” x 22”), the other by Norman James, and we are unsure if either are in working order.
