Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2021

A three-time James Norris finalist and one of the best defenders during the 1980s, Mark Howe was able to carve out a noteworthy HOF career despite playing in the shadow of his famous father. Ideal to display, this Mark Howe Hartford Whalers vintage period pro jersey is not game-worn, but was produced in the era when Howe was patrolling the blueline for the Connecticut-based franchise. Tagged in the collar as a size “48” (tag is partially detached), the mesh jersey has "Mark Howe" double-layer tackle twill lettering sewn onto a nameplate with the “O” of Howe sewn through the nameplate and jersey, along with double-layer tackle twill number 5's on the sleeves and back, the team crest and Pucky the whale crests on the shoulders. The jersey has no fight strap. We see signs of wear on the jersey, including stains on the front and on the nameplate, plus two repairs on the right sleeve and another on the lower front, but we must reiterate, this game-wear is not from Howe.
