Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020

One of the nicest encapsulated Johnny Evers 1909 E102 cards on record is offered here and was issued, despite the “1908” on the PSA label, during the (1909) season, after Evers had helped the Chicago Cubs to defend their World Series title, beating the Detroit Tigers for a second straight year. The colorful depiction of the Cubs’ diminutive second baseman appears on a card reminiscent of the many candy sets of the era and received a lofty mark of EX-MT 6. It, along with five other 6s, is edged only by an EX-MT+ 6.5 on the PSA Population Report, with a total of just 28 submissions over the years. The astute and proud new owner will get to admire the formidable specimen and check out the set’s star-studded lineup, listed on the reverse – both thought-provoking.
