Canada’s all-time goals and points leader at the IIHF World Championships, Dany Heatley was selected second overall behind Rick DiPietro at the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, and made his NHL debut with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2001-02. This lot offers a helmet worn by the superstar along with a signed game-used stick, accompanied by a trio of signed Thrashers jerseys. The helmet is a Bauer model with intact padding and chin strap, with Thrashers decals over each side and “15” on the lower reverse, along with an NHL decal on the right side. The stick is a Bauer TriFlex model with “Heatley” over the upper shaft, with the original yellow-over-white tape on the handle, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large gold paint pen signature. The signed jerseys include a home and two road examples. Hailing from the personal collection of an important hockey executive, his signed LOA will accompany.
The helmet is from circa 2002-03 and exhibits nice game-use, with numerous scratches and surface marks visible, with no soiling to the interior padding, and some salting/oxidation to the metal chin strap clasp. The stick shows just light game-use, with marks and abrasions to the lower shaft. The jerseys were all produced by CCM, with tackle twill team crests and numbers, with Heatley signing each over the reverse numbers, with the home jersey signed in blue, and the road sweaters signed in silver.
