This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Did someone order baseball head gear for four? A trio of circa early-2000s Montreal Expos helmets from the relocated club are offered, along with a Washington Nationals helmet with use attributed to Elijah Dukes circa 2008-09. First, two of the Expos helmets are void of player numerals over the reverse, with both likely used for batting practice, while the third sports “32” decals (a number of Expos wore the #32 jersey from 2000 to 2004 including Anthony Telford, Jim Brower, Bruce Chen, Anthony Ferrari, Joe Vitiello and Chad Cordero). The Nationals helmet has “34” decals over the reverse (Bryce Harper’s number since 2012), with a number of pitchers wearing the #34 jersey from 2005 to 2009, including Travis Hughes, Tomo Ohka, Pedro Astacio and Ray King. Outfielder Elijah Dukes wore the number the longest before Harper, with the helmet attributed to his use.
The Diamond Collection Expos helmets all feature a team decal over the front, with the interior padding and head bands intact, with each showing moderate to heavier use, with the example with “32” on the reverse sporting some residue over the team decal. The Rawlings Nationals helmet features a team logo over the front, with the interior padding and head band intact, with heavy use exhibited, with a bit of residue on the upper left side.
