Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
The precursor to the plethora of table top hockey games that would flood the market during the second half of the 20th century, this earlier “National 6-Man Hockey” game was produced by Toronto’s Munro in the 1950s, with a production date of “Jan 7 1953” stamped to the underside. At approx 14 ½” x 37” and constructed of wood with metal and plastic components, each player remains intact along with both knit nets, with the rink’s red and blue lines screened-on, along with a small maple leaf at center ice. The playing mechanisms at both ends work (with tape added), along with the “shooters” that set the puck in action. There is moderate surface wear throughout, with the game in overall good condition.
