Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/20/2020
Playing his college ball at Montana State, Al “Dirt” Wilson spent his entire 15-season career with his home province British Columbia Lions, earning seven CFL All-Star selections. The Duncan native would win a Grey Cup championship with the Lions in 1985 and receive HOF enshrinement in 1997. Originally acquired directly from Wilson’s agent Michael Barnett, this BC Lions jersey was worn by the superstar during the 1975 CFL season. A one-year style jersey worn by the Lions only in 1975, a faded Russell Athletics label with “XL” sizing resides over the front tail, with “52” rubberized over the front, sleeves and verso. “Wilson” is also rubberized over the upper reverse, with evidence of a former nameplate placed over “Wilson” and then removed.
Exhibiting heavy game use with wear to the identifiers, there are also a number of small holes along with team repairs, with examples over the shoulders (4), left sleeve (1) and upper reverse (4).
