Enjoying nearly two decades of competitive NHL hockey, Rick Tocchet appeared for six different clubs but featured prominently with the Philadelphia Flyers for his first eight NHL seasons. Tockett would be crowned a Stanley Cup champion with Pittsburgh in 1992, with the offered skates attributed to his use at the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals. Originally gifted to a very good friend of Tocchet’s in the Penguins locker room immediately after the conclusion of the 1992 finals, photo evidence does show Tocchet wearing this model of skates in the 1992 playoffs and finals. They were later gifted by Tocchet’s friend to our consignor, with the pair teammates in junior hockey. Well-used CCM Tacks 652 models with intact laces and ICM blade holders, “92” has been handwritten in black marker to the underside of each boot, with “30-50” placed adjacently in red on the left skate. Showing heavy game-use with considerable wear to the material throughout, there are also numerous cuts to each blade holder, with some minor rusting to the blades. Tocchet made the transition from Philly to Pittsburgh in a trade on February 19, 1992.
