Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Featuring eight teams split between the Canadian and American Divisions, the 1937-38 NHL season witnessed the Boston Bruins finish as regular-season champions, with the Cinderella-story Chicago Black Hawks claiming their second franchise Stanley Cup championship despite posting the lowest regular-season winning percentage for any championship NHL team in history. We have an exceedingly rare framed 1937-38 NHL schedule. At approx 10” x 13 ½” (exposed) and produced by Ferranti to advertise their “Ferr-Anti-Surge” transformers, images of eight contemporary stars have been added above to represent each club including HOF members Tiny Thompson, Aurel Joliat and Sweeney Schriner, with the home games listed for the three Canadian teams, the Maple Leafs, Canadiens and Maroons. Framed to approx 16 ½” x 20”, this piece is ready for display. This is the first 1937-38 Ferranti NHL schedule we have ever handled.
A number of creases to the schedule are visible along with some even toning, with just some light wear to the frame.
