Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Transitioning Canada from just a British colony to serving a much larger international role, Louis Stephen St. Laurent entered office as the 12th Prime Minister of Canada in 1948, serving for a decade, until 1957. We have a signed photo of the Conservative and Canadian nationalist. At 7 ¼” x 9 ¼”, the glossy image picture’s St-Laurent in full Indian headdress, with the photo set in a 12” x 14” matte. St-Laurent has signed the matte directly beneath the photo in fountain pen, adding “To my friend Frank Hastings, with kind regards”. The signature shows some even fading but displays beautifully, with wrinkling to the photo and some general wear including a dinged upper right corner to the matte. St-Laurent would live until the age of 91, passing in the summer of 1973.
