This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Originating from the personal collection of Milt Schmidt and obtained directly from his family, we have a collection of lumber, with 5 desirable sticks including team-signed examples. Included, we have a stick used by Clayton Pachal in 1977-78 and signed by the Bruins including HOFers Johnny Bucyk, Brad Park, Gerry Cheevers and Jean Ratelle, followed by a stick that saw action in the hands of Reggie Leach in 1976-77, a Bourque model stick signed by the circa 1993-94 Bruins, and a Heineken advertising/promotional stick signed by Bruins greats including HOFers Woody Dumart, Milt Schmidt, John Bucyk, Fern Flaman, Phil Esposito, Cam Neely and Brad Park. Finally, we also have a modern Titan stick with “M Schmidt” stamped over the lower shaft. An LOA from the Schmidt family will accompany.
The Pachal stick is a Northland model with “Pachal” and “29” over the upper shaft, with the original tape in place. Showing heavy use, the stick has had one side of the shaft shaved down, with approx 21 red ballpoint signatures including coach Don Cherry, Wayne Cashman, Peter McNab, Bob Miller, John Wensink, Al Sims, Gary Doak, Stan Jonathan, Don Marcotte and others. The Bourque stick was never issued to the Hofer, with 16 ballpoint signatures on side of the shaft including Bourque, along with Adam Oates, Cam Neely, Ted Donato, Dave Reid, David Shaw, Steve Heinze, Brent Hughes, Don Sweeney, Bryan Smolinski, Cam Stewart and others. The Heineken stick has approx 32 black marker signatures on both sides of the shaft including Ken Hodge, Don Marcotte, Jerry Toppazzini, John McKenzie, Ed Westfall, Leo Labine, Jim Morrison, Don McKenney, Don Awrey and others. The Leach stick is a KOHO 221 model with “Leach” stamped-on along with “27”, with the original tape over the blade and handle. Seeing heavy use, the stick was apparently used after Leach most likely for street hockey, with the blade heavily worn along the underside. Lastly, the Titan Ultralight TPM model is for a right-hand shot, with “M Schmidt” stamped over the lower shaft, with just light wear to the stick.
