Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2003-04 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
The Calder Memorial winner in 2000, Scott Gomez skated for 7 different NHL clubs during his career, along with representing the US at the World Championships and Winter Olympics. We have a Canadiens alternate captain’s jersey that was issued to and prepared for Gomez’s use during the Habs Centennial Game, on Dec. 4th 2009. Currently void of any collar labeling and roughly a size 58, NHL and Reebok crests grace the front and back necklines respectively. Featuring the famous CH team crest partially-embroidered, the Centennial Game V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Gomez” across the nameplate in single white twill. Issued but never worn, the jersey remains in wonderful condition. The team patch (C01013) sits on the inside hem, while a hologram numbered “GU11478” affixed to the reverse “1” matches the accompanying Canadiens LOA.
