Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Selected in the second round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, Janne Niinimaa earned an All-Star Game berth in 2001. The Finn has also represented his country internationally, at both the World Championships and Winter Olympics. We have an Islanders third jersey worn by Niinimaa in 2002-03, his first season on Long Island, where he appeared in 13 games. Size “56” labeling graces the collar, with KOHO and NHL crests over the reverse neckline and bottom hem respectively. Styled with the familiar Long Island team crest with embroidered detailing, the “Third Set 2” tie-neck has been accented with navy tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with white trim, with “Niinimaa” across the affixed mesh nameplate in matching material. A few random marks are present, with burns over the left sleeve along with resulting holes on and near the elbow section. A patch from MeiGray numbered “B05771” sits over the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany.
