Matt Duchene lead the Canadian bench, manned by a mix of players signed to Euro clubs and locked-out NHL’ers, to Canada’s 12th Spengler Cup title in 2012. This is Matt’s Ochsner-tagged red Team Canada uniform from that tournament, as detailed in the accompanying receipt from Davos Management AG. Littered with sublimated General sponsor ads, the collar tagging lists the size as XL and “Duchene” and “9” are sublimated in white. Game use is very light but we do spot a few small stick marks on the right arm. The attractive style sports the Nike swoosh in two places and a snap-style fight strap in the tail.
The 2012 Spengler Cup games were held in Davos, Switzerland between December 26th and 31st. Matt Duchene potted two goals, adding another three assists over four games contested by Canada at the tournament. The Haliburton-born centerman jumped over to the Ottawa Senators early in the 2017-18 season after eight full years with the Colorado Avalanche following a two-season stint in the juniors with the Brampton Battalion.
