Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
The last active NHL player that saw action with the NY/Brooklyn Americans, Ken Mosdell spent parts of 13 seasons in a Canadiens sweater, winning Stanley Cups with the club in both the 1940s and 1950s. We have an NHL Oldtimers wool sweater that was worn by the Montreal native circa late-1960s. Void of any collar labeling and measuring-out to roughly a size 46, the vintage tie-neck has been styled with an “NHL Oldtimers” shield crest, with “8” over the sleeves and verso in white tackle twill numbers with red trim. “Mosdell” also appears across the blue tackle twill nameplate in single white twill letters.
A few marks and stains are visible over the lower front on the heavy wool, with some of the blue colour bleeding into different cream-coloured sections. The red tackle twill bottom layers of the numbers have also bled through the white that sits over top.
