Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Known previously as both the Bruins and Dynamos, the Shawinigan Cataractes greatest success came in 2012, with the QMJHL-club both hosting and winning the Memorial Cup. We have a collection of three game-worn Cataractes jerseys, with a pair hailing from the late-1980s along with an example worn in 1993-94 by Simon Roy. The late-1980s jerseys include both home and away examples, with CCM crests over the reverse hems along with layered tackle twill team crests. Neither currently sport nameplates but do have evidence of a former plate, with the “3” jersey roughly a size 56, and the number “32” sweater approx. size 54. Both exhibit heavy wear with marks, burns and paint transfer present, along with team repairs and pilling. The Roy jersey from 1993-94 has labeling along the collar including a size “54” fly tag, with a rubberized and heat-pressed team crest. Tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers have been utilized, with a 25th anniversary crest over the right breast. Heavy wear is again present, with numerous marks over the front and sleeves along with burns and paint transfer over the sleeves.
