Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018

A gold medal winner at the 1996 World Cup with Team USA, Doug Weight enjoyed a lengthy NHL career, winning a Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006. We have a St Louis Blues alternate captain’s jersey worn by the Michigan native in 2007-08, and it’s been photo-matched. CCM size “56” labeling with handwritten “1” sits affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests over the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the familiar blue note team crest with embroidered detailing, the “Set 1” V-neck has been accented with tri-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Weight” across the nameplate in single white twill. A heat-pressed team patch resides over the back of the reverse numbers near a “Set 1” patch, with a matching COA from the Blues to accompany.
Game-wear consists of board burns over the right sleeve and shoulder, with a few fabric pulls also present. Getty Image #78541534 from Dec 11th 2007 has been matched to the marks at the right of "39" on the right sleeve. We should also note that Weight played again with the Blues on December 13th at home before being traded to the Ducks on December 14th, with this most likely being the last jersey he wore with the Blues.
