Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/6/2018
Transitioning from Pittsburgh to Minnesota after a pair of seasons with the Penguins in the mid-to-late-1980s, we have a North Stars jersey originally worn by Brian Lawton in 1986-87, recycled for Terry Ruskowski’s use in the 1987-88 preseason. A Steichens label sits affixed to the collar along with a laundering tag with handwritten “50” sizing, with a CCM* crest in Stars’ colours over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an attractive and layered drop-shadow Stars team crest fully administered in tackle twill, the mesh V-neck has been accented with matching drop-shadow sleeve and verso numbers, with alternate crests over each shoulder along with “Ruskowski” over the affixed mesh nameplate in single green twill.
We should note that the jersey has been hemmed-up at the waist for Ruskowski’s use, with evidence also visible of an original shorter nameplate. A large board burn is visible over the lower front band, with some pilling to the interior beneath the fight strap. There are also 10 team repairs, with larger examples near the left elbow.
