Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
“To be awarded annually to the player selected as the most proficient in the first year of competition in the National Hockey League” is engraved in script across the front of this three-handled Calder replica trophy. A full foot in height (12”) and mounted to a black-painted wooden base, this particular example was presented to Boston Bruins Executive Vice-President Charles Mulcahy and is identical to the examples given to the players. The handles and inner bowl exhibit the most wear with loss to the finish and oxidation, with the rim slightly losing it circular continuity. The base also exhibits a crack, but remains solid, with the trophy itself currently able to swivel along the base. A signed LOA from Mulcahy will accompany.
