Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Hailing from the same small northern Manitoba community as HOFer Bobby Clarke, Dean Evason spent almost two decades in professional hockey, with the bulk of his NHL time enjoyed in Hartford. This Whalers jersey was worn by the World Championship gold medal winner in 1986-87, his first full season with the club, and it’s been photo-matched. Currently void of any labeling along the collar, the vintage mesh has been styled with a layered Whalers team crest fully administered in tackle twill, accented with sleeve and verso numbers in matching material. Game-wear includes an especially large stick mark beneath the team crest, with additional marks over the sleeves and reverse. Minimal paint transfer is also present, with team repairs over the lower sleeves and reverse tail.
Regarding the previously mentioned photo-match, Evason’s 1987-88 O-Pee-Chee rookie card has been matched to the big mark below the team crest, and to the black mark at the right of the team crest. A photo from the 1987-88 Whalers yearbook has also been matched to the big mark below the team crest.
