Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Originally displayed in the historic Montreal Forum, we have a plaque featuring the 1971-72 Montreal Junior Canadiens of the Ontario Hockey League, along with three team photos. The Jr. Canadiens first began play in the JAHA in 1933, moving to the OHA in 1961 before folding in 1972. The plaque is 13” x 15” and it’s constructed of wood, with a full colour Habs logo at top, along with the players and team executives all listed by hand in gold-coloured paint. With a few surface blemishes, predominantly along the top and bottom sections, the plaque remains in very good condition, ready for display. The photos are all roughly 7 ½” x 9 ½”, and affixed to 12” x 14” mounts. Both the year and the players pictured are listed below, with examples for both 1967-68 (black & white) and 1970-71 (2). All three photos remain in beautiful condition, with just some light wear to each mount. The 1967-68 example also has some creasing to the back of the mount, with a large crack/tear along the upper right side. Some of the better players pictured include Guy Lapointe, Rejean Houle, Gilbert Perreault and Marc Tardiff.
