Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
A fourth round draft choice in 2009, defenceman Erik Gustafsson first plied his trade in his native Sweden before moving onto Rockford in the AHL and finally, Chicago. This Black Hawks jersey was worn by the Nynäshamn native in 2015-16, and it’s been photo-matched. Size tagging resides along the collar with handwritten “2 15-16” for set designation, with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the classic Indian head team crest featuring chain-stitched details, the white V-neck has been accented with dual-colour tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with matching alternate tomahawk crests over each shoulder. The circumference of the sleeves has also been brought in. Game-wear includes a few random marks with light paint transfer over the left sleeve. There are also 6 team repairs, with 5 on the right sleeve and a single example near the left elbow. Regarding the previously mentioned photo-matches, Getty Image #508077250 from Feb 2nd 2016 has been matched to a number of loose threads on the letters on the nameplate, while Getty Image #514070598 from March 2nd 2016 has been matched to a number of loose threads on the #52 on the right sleeve, and to one team repair on the lower right sleeve. The team patch numbered R3714 sits on the inside hem, with a matching LOA to accompany.
