Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Led by HOFer Mike Gartner, the Washington Capitals in the early-1980s may not have been the most productive team, but they were definitely one of the best attired. We have a Washington Capitals jersey worn in circa 1981-82 by the final player ever drafted by the WHA, goaltender Dave Parro. Maska Ultrafil tagging along with a laundering label remain affixed to the collar, with an embroidered Maska crest on the back bottom hem. Styled with the familiar “Capitals” across the chest in single twill with “Washington” embroidered above, the solid-red V-neck also features dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, along with single-twill stars affixed down each sleeve and across the upper chest. A loop-style fight strap is also present on the desirable jersey.
Game-wear includes a few marks on the lower front and over each sleeve, along with a few fabric pulls. There is also light staining on the right shoulder and over the left sleeve’s cuff.
